*What Kind of Knitter/Squirrel Are you?

Knitting Goddess
You appear to be a Knitting Goddess.
You are constantly giving and are unconcerned
with reward, you simply want others to love
knitting as much as you do. If someone wants
to knit miles of novelty yarns, you are there
for them. If someone wants to learn short row
shaping, you can help. There are no taboos in
knitting, only opportunities to grow.
Everyone should have friend like you around
if they want to learn to knit, and there's a
good chance that your passion has rubbed off
on a few others.

What Kind of Knitter Are You?

How much fun is that!
Love the 'net.

Today I discovered, like there are different knitters, there are different squirrels. I found this out with the unwitting help of two college students.

Ok. I'll back up a little. Sitting in the park today were a pair of NYU college students. Sitting next to me. On the same bench. College students talk too loudly. They are everywhere in my neighborhood. The Village is overrun with NYU students. It's like someone upset a roach motel. I'd say an anthill, since that's the proper turn of phrase, but I feel roach motel is more to suit. You can see how I feel about NYC college students.

So. These two students were outside at the park with the rest of us lollygaggers. They were smoking and sharing a bag of snacks. They were a playful couple and little violent, their discussion turned to argument, interspursed with laughter and a little playful/forceful shoving. Sitting right next to me on the same bench.
During the melee, they lost interest in their snacks, which dropped to the floor. Crumpled plastic bag containing two cellophane snack containers, one with shelled peanuts, one with unshelled sunflower seeds. The contents of the snack containers spilled to the floor and the squirrels, ever vigilant for food, were up in it all in moments.

Squirrel Free for all with different camps. Some of the squirrels went for the nuts. They snatch 'em up, run away and return for more. The other squirrels went for the seeds. They stood about and worked on this pile, like witches stirring at a cauldron. It was like watching a bizzare race. The nut squirrels working at a feverish pace. The seed squirrels methodically deshelling the seeds, then eating them. The spend it nows vs. the save for laters. Mesmerizing to watch.
