9a Lughnasadh is this Sunday and thus far no word from Craig after emails and text messages, his preferred method of contact. At some point soon his rampant disorganized way of running the coven which mirrors the way he runs his life will come to a head. Most of the original core of coven members have a hit a wall and want to quit.  Brian and I have been doing what we can but can only do so much given the hierarchy of the system. I'm hoping that my recent exchanges with Helena will bear fruit as contact with Michael has not; it may be he has too much on his plate to have a helping of ours. 

12p Well it finally hit the fan. Chris sent a message to Helena and the Elders are having a powwow. I'm working on a Ritual adding to the one I had in my backup file for instances just like this when Craig doesn't come up for air and we're left to tend for ourselves. It isn't that we can't, since obviously we have been, but it is looking good that proctorship is on it's way back to further assist the coven.

Friday, August 1. We're in the dog days of August and the astrological weather also heats up today after a rather productive and relatively easy week for many of us. 

There's quite a bit of planetary activity today so buckle down and get serious to deal with some intensity. Nothing necessarily bad but for a summer Friday more high energy than you might like. 

The Moon squares Pluto all morning so this can be a rather oppressive mood to the first half of the day. Someone may be bearing down on you and getting under your skin and the work load has a heavy feeling. The other big aspect during most of the work day is Mars square Jupiter. That is a very overbearing energy in which everyone will fight for what they believe to the point of beating other people over the head. This is the violent religious zealot at its worst so let's keep an eye out on the unrest in war torn areas especially by religious fundamentalists. In your own personal life watch out for being overly aggressive in asserting your opinions and points of view. Mars fuels Jupiter to be even more grandiose but in a bullying type of way so monitor relationships at work with the boss, co-workers and clients. 

Tonight the Libra Moon opposes Uranus and squares Venus. Talk about electricity and love at first sight! This is a very upbeat and exciting energy but on the provocative side especially in the pursuit of getting what you want. Sexual chemistry is heightened tonight but it's the type that is aggressive and may not be mutually shared. This can be the prototypical man wanting sex at any price and the woman saying "no". Be very clear about who wants what from whom and how you're willing to negotiate terms. If the two of you are on the same page, whether for a one night stand or an already formed relationship, then this is sexually combustible so have fun. Just make sure everyone's needs are being met. 

If you're not careful with a partner's feelings, wants and needs tonight then you'll pay the price tomorrow when Mercury, planet of communication, is in challenging aspect with Jupiter and Mars and your partner will tell you just exactly what they think about you and your behavior. 
Square Dance...

An energetic Mars-Jupiter square pushes us into action today, suggesting that we go overboard, or at least a little further than we usually would. The Libra moon will try to keep us in balance, or at least put a nice veneer on things. 

Yet Luna continues to be busy with her own tense aspects, extending the energy of yesterday's Venus/Uranus square. We continue to feel the push-pull between self and other, me and us, with 'self' and 'me' having the decided advantage. Agree to disagree, and consider giving others some space: with Mars and Jupiter elbowing each other the day has a certain volatile potential.

As is generally the case when there is friction in the skies, having a goal towards which to channel your energy is a great idea, as free-floating energy can latch onto a random cause and blow it out of proportion. 

Jupiter in Leo is expansive and generous, while Mars in Scorpio is protective and perhaps a little suspicious. Jupiter in Leo says, "let me share my good fortune" while Mars in Scorpio suggests it's better to "look out for Number One." 

Watch for these themes in your own life, and also as they play out in the events of the day in the news. Immigration issues in the U.S. should reflect these two narratives in complex ways, for example in the two very different approaches to 'saving' children who cross the border. Yesterday's tumble in the stock market was also very much in concert with these themes, as there was defensiveness in the face of otherwise good economic news this week
